Malapua is an Indian pancake served as a dessert or a snack. It's believed to have originated in Orissa dessert served to as breakfast in temples. Malapua batter in some places are prepared by crushing ripe bananas or (in Bangladesh) coconut, adding flour, and water or milk. The batter is often seasoned with cardamoms, then deep fried in oil, and served warm.
